26 mar 2022 · 1.Running OBSE with shortcut - in shortcut there can be directory mismatch. 2.Some security issue - for some reason access to Oblivion.exe was refused. Maybe reinstall to different directory than "Program Files" will help?
I have copied the 3 .dll files to the installation folder and the OBSE folder to the Data folder with the .ini file inside it. I have Steam overlay active and running properly on the game. I have tried launching both the Oblivion.exe file independently and from within my Steam library.
10 lip 2022 · Potential solution. I am windows 11. I did a multi-step solution. First i went to one-drive and deleted the oblivion folder under OneDrive - personal > Documents > Oblivion. Delete the whole folder. Second i went into steam. Go into the library/collections and right click Oblivion and hit properties.
2 lut 2022 · I am trying to install various mods but almost all require OBSE and when I try to run obse it just says it cannot find oblivion.exe when it's definitely in the same folder... i have tried multiple versions of obse.
You need to specify where your save folder is the oblivion.ini located in Documents\My Games\Oblivion or move your saves to the default location, Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves. At least, that is how it works normally for retail and steam versions. The default in the .ini is SLocalSavePath=Saves\.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
