Howdy, a lot of mods require that oblivion not be in my program files, and are recommending that I move it to c:/oblivion or c:/games/oblivion. I tried just copying and pasting the oblivion folder and restarting steam but that didn't work.
Some have shared that a potential workaround involves restarting Steam and has returned the games to their library. Update: clearing Steam's download cache and restarting has been reported to help some. As a reminder, r/Steam is not affiliated
Steam only installs to the directory that will be revealed. There will be a folder in Documents (mine are in Documents/My Games) with save data, and maybe some other stuff, but that isn't the install directory.
A solution someone said worked was to disable OneDrive sync for oblivion and to make sure your saves are in the default save location, [C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves], and make sure the .ini reflects that.
Your saved games are located in your C:\\My Documents\\My Games\\Oblivion directory.
21 lip 2009 · While you say Oblivion\Data folder your ss has everything going in the unopened Oblivion folder, so there is a good chance that, for some (thick), the mod will not end up with the esp in Data, and the animation file in Meshes folder, but instead in the Oblivion folder.
20 maj 2021 · You can absolutely move your install folder via steam. Right click the game from your steam library > Properties > Local Files > Move install folder. You can also set up your Steam Library Folders to be off of the C drive, which is absolutely recommended for anything related to modding right at the beginning.
