7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.

You need to specify where your save folder is the oblivion.ini located in Documents\My Games\Oblivion or move your saves to the default location, Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves. At least, that is how it works normally for retail and steam versions. The default in the .ini is SLocalSavePath=Saves\.
7 cze 2017 · It's caused either by missing registry key that for some reason wasn't created, or by previous installation and thus a key that points to incorrect location. You can fix this by manually adding / editing the registry key:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow64Node. Create a new key (folder) by right-clicking on Wow64Node, name it Bethesda Softworks. In Bethesda Softworks key, create another key and name it Oblivion. Then, create a String value in your Oblivion key, name it Installed Path.
when I go into the launcher and press play, I get an error from the oblivion launcher that says "The Oblivion Launcher could not find the Oblivion game executable. Please reinstall Oblivion". this happens whether I click the shortcut or the launcher itself in the oblivion folder in the file explorer
