26 gru 2018 · Another thing that could be causing it is if the Oblivion Sounds.bsa is missing or unregistered from the INI. Go to your Data\ folder and see if the BSA is there, it's a 315MB file (330,357,985 bytes to be precise.)
I just got TES IV: Oblivion GOTY (on steam, digital edition, windows 10 pc) last night and everything is fine up until I start a new game. There is Audio in the launcher and the main menu screen but as soon as the cutscene for a new game starts, there is no audio at all.
First things first. Do you have sound on your PC? What soundcard? OS? Drivers? There was one weird glitch where you had to set [bDSoundHWAcceleration=] to 0. You can also try setting [bUseSoftwareAudio3D=] to 1.
Right-Click Oblivion in your steam list, select properties, go to local files tab. Press verify integrity of game cache. Wait till this has run through and downloaded the missing files. Use this if not even the launcher appears or if you get “game not available” messages.

29 maj 2022 · So I just bought Oblivion (Game of the year deluxe edition) and I've noticed that most audio inside of menus is just plain missing. Lockpicking noises, the sound effects when looting items from bodies, the sound effects when looking into containers, all gone.
13 wrz 2015 · Today I loaded the game and after the launcher box, no music and no sounds in game. Thought this was odd, since it was perfectly fine the last time I played. After checking file integrity, I reloaded the game and opened the "options/audio" menu.
