10 lip 2022 · might be missing some old libraries that the game needs and may have failed to install. go to folder...\steam\steam\apps\common\oblivion\directx and run dxsetup.exe with admin permission. use repair option if there is one. run game from game folder .exe and NOT from your steam library or an icon. sometimes an error msg appears not hidden by steam.

This problem is especially apparent if you installed Steam and Oblivion on different drives; you have a couple solutions:

10 lis 2023 · There's a good chance you have leftover files from last time you had it installed. This can cause issues, especially if you had certain types of mods. Make sure you delete the entire Oblivion folder from "Documents". It's under "my games," I believe.
I just bought oblivion on Steam and while I can get the launcher to open, the game itself will not load. When i click play, the launcher just closes and then nothing happens. Here's what I've tried so far: Running in compatibility mode. Running in windowed mode.
The most likely reason for your crash is that you didn't install the OBSE in the correct place. The downloaded obse_0021.zip file should be uncompressed into the "\Oblivion" root folder. Make sure "obse_steam_loader.dll" and "obse_1_2_416.dll" are in the root Oblivion fodler (the same place as Oblivion.exe).
16 cze 2017 · Clicking in the Oblivion Folder does the same result. Oblivion.EXE and Oblivion Launcher does nothing, it loads but nothing comes up. Changing the compatibility does nothing.
