10 kwi 2013 · This is a common problem for steam games, see Application load error 5:0000065434. The short version is Oblivion.exe is locked by Steam and won't run without Steam.exe. This problem is especially apparent if you installed Steam and Oblivion on different drives; you have a couple solutions:
28 mar 2009 · The new install will re create the folder for you along with a fresh oblivion.ini and when you start the game and make a save, a new save folder and new \data folder. Now you can delete the game folders if you want to do a complete fresh reinstall.
3 cze 2020 · You can find more information in you obse.log files directly under the Oblivion folder as that shows what OBSE plugins Oblivion is loading. If there are any errors, they would be located there.
22 lip 2019 · Hi I believe I found a solution that could work for anyone experiencing this issue. As stated you might be missing some .dll files. To find out which ones use https://github.com/lucasg/Dependencies and open Oblivion.exe with it. It will tell you which .dll files you are missing and/or not working.
Run your game directly through Steam once. You may also need to restart Steam. If that still doesn't work, place a copy of your Steam.exe (not a shortcut) into the game's Root folder. Basically Steam is stupid and can't find the game if it's not installed on the same drive as steam itself.

Make sure "obse_steam_loader.dll" and "obse_1_2_416.dll" are in the root Oblivion fodler (the same place as Oblivion.exe). Make sure that "obse.ini" is in the "Oblivion\Data\OBSE" folder. Then launch Oblivion through steam.
