Oblivion Mod:BSAs and Archive Invalidation. A Bethesda Softworks Archive (BSA) is a type of compressed file format in which Oblivion packs away many of its files. They reduce clutter and allow the game to find files more easily. For that reason, a number of people recommend BSA repacking.
20 lut 2011 · Archive Invalidation is a tool used to make Oblivion look past its BSA files to the loose files in the data directory. This is done for most replacer mods. They add the new model and/or texture to its proper path in the data directory to replace its vanilla counter part in-game.
They are only telling you you need 7zip so that you can uncompress (basically make the files in the download accessible in their original form) the archive of TES4EDIT that you downloaded. The download is likely a zip file, which is a compressed form of a file/files that will have a smaller file size than the file/files would normally take up.
18 mar 2015 · Just download the latest masterlist, extract the download and then copy the new masterlist to your BOSS\Oblivion folder (replacing the one that is already there if you have at least once managed to update the masterlist using the BOSS automatic update).
MO2 does its own archive invalidation for Oblivion, much like Wrye Bash. You don't need to worry about it. It's still recommended to use SkyBSA to fix all archive invalidation issues however.
18 cze 2012 · The "ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa" goes in your data folder. In your My Documents folder, in My Games, edit the 'Oblivion.ini. file and look for: SArchiveList. Then add your archive invalidated BSA to that list: (I added it after the 'Oblivion - Meshes.bsa' entry.
You need to use some form of "archive invalidation", preferably "BSA redirection" (included in OBMM and WB; see BSAs and Archive Invalidation) if using mods that replace files in BSAs. If you cannot open the console for some reason, get the Ring of Console mods (linked under "Related Resources".)
