An Armor Set is defined as a complete set of armor that includes one matching armor piece for the head, chest, legs, hands and feet. There are several different armor sets available in Oblivion, both in heavy and light variants. Certain Armor set can provide special bonuses if the full set is worn.

Armor is a type of apparel, along with clothing and jewelry, that can be worn on the player character's body. Shields, which are wielded by the player, are also categorized as armor. Armor comes in two classes: Light and Heavy. This page lists the base non-enchanted varieties of both kinds of armor.
You’ll find it very difficult to come across a piece of armor that looks even half as badass as the Daedric Armor set in Oblivion. Even after all the DLCs were released, the Daedric armor remains as the strongest piece of unenchanted armor in the game.
Of the standard armor, The mythril is my favorite visually of the light armor. I like the saviors hide you get from Hircine as my chest armor. For heavy armor the Dwarven armor/weapons are my favorite visually, but I usually do Daedric armor with an ebony helmet. Orcish is a close second.

4 maj 2008 · This mod adds houndreds items to the game: 30 full retextured sets of armor (~250 armor pieces overall for males and females), about 250 weapons to match armor sets + many others (including defensive ones).
My favorite armor in the game is amber (shivering isles) both aesthetically and stats wise. But the KOTN divine crusader set is awesome too, and it levels as you do you... (If you put it back on the display and take it back after it will reset to your current level)
