Use Court Explorer to search, view or purchase public court legal records of the 6th Judicial Circuit Court. Circuit Court cases may be searched by name or case number. Cases include Domestic (such as divorce, custody, parenting time), Civil (such as contract, business, appeals, general civil cases over $25,000), and Criminal felony case types.
The Oakland County Court Explorer Application was developed to enhance access to public records for the Circuit & Probate Courts. The system allows for viewing of primary case party information, the register of actions, and ordering copies of documents filed on a case.
You can only search by case number for Probate Court. To find a case number by name, click below to search cases through a Michigan Courts application. Once you have the number, enter it in the case search fields to continue the document search through Court Explorer.
In Oakland County, criminal court records are managed by the Clerks office and can also be accessed at the https://courtexplorer.oakgov.com/OaklandCounty portal. From here, you can view circuit court cases (which include criminal cases) and probate cases.
Document Copies. Orders for copies on most public Civil, Criminal, and Domestic cases can be placed online through Court Explorer. To request copies of documents in the court legal file on a Juvenile matter, email JuvenileLegal@Oakgov.com.

The Oakland County Circuit and Probate courts, in conjunction with the County Clerk’s office, have recently updated and expanded the Court Explorer on-line application. Court Explorer, originally introduced in 2006, enables attorneys and court users to access Circuit Court case information, register of actions and order documents online.
