About the NYCDOE calendar • Each year, the school year calendar is centrally designed to meet the NYSED requirement of a minimum number of 180 State aidable days in all schools. • The DOE builds more than 180 aidable days into the calendar, in case of snow or other emergency cancelations. • Aidable days must be between September and June.
NYCDOE School Year 2023-24 Calendar This calendar provides for 179 student attendance days, of which 179 are “aidable” student attendance days during the September–June school year.
