Enduring Word Bible Commentary Numbers Chapter 11. Numbers 11 – The People Complain. A. The complaints of Israel and of Moses. 1. (1-3) The complaining heart of Israel. Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused.
“John,” he said, “I wonder who took that picture?” We can get exactly what we want, only to end up finding reason to be unhappy with what we get! God finally became fed up with the Israelites as they kept behaving this way.
John introduces this last of the great miracles of Jesus in Chapter 11 in these words: Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill.
