I really don’t like epoxy boards. My stepfather is a surfboard shaper and he convinced me that EPU boards are far better. Just start to watch the difference between performance’s of epoxy and EPU at wsl and you’ll understand what i’m talking about.

Advantages of epoxy are that it's lightweight and unbelievable strong. Disadvantages of epoxy are that it's expensive and stiff. It's all preference. I don't want to tell you which boards to buy, but I am against the wholesale manufacturing of surfboards. I prefer local handshaped boards. They're decent enough boards...rented a few in my day.

The Torq 7-6 was my first board, and I gradually stepped down (7-2, 6-10, 6-6) because the local surf shop gave me awesome deals on trade-ins. I've also ridden equivalent NSPs while renting or traveling abroad. Generally, no complaints with either brand.
