Interstate 5 is the primary route through the Sacramento Valley, traveling north–south roughly along the valley's western edge. Interstate 80 cuts a northeast-to-southwest swath through the southern end of the valley, mostly through Sacramento and Yolo Counties, and ends at the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge .
During fall and winter months, the valley drops in temperature, but for the more part of the year, it is found to be humid and hot. One can access the valley through the Union Pacific Railroad.
