NoPa is a tiny section carved out of the larger Western Addition neighborhood. It’s named after its location, the streets sitting north of the panhandle (the narrow eastern strip of Golden Gate Park).
NoPa as a location is good. The divisadero and Upper Haight areas offer a lot of shopping and nightlife, but you are away from the hustle and bustle of tourism and such. The panhandle is a chill park but it is a bit treacherous for off leash dogs as it has bike paths, basketball/skating courts, etc and no divider between park and street.

I don't live in that area of SF, but I've spent a lot of time in the area and stayed over multiple times in NOPA/Panhandle/Lower Haight. I think it's one of the best central areas in SF to live - Golden Gate Park and Panhandle are both gems during pandemic and Page St. is a slow street.
