Pad printing is an indirect offset (or a gravure) printing process, where an image is transferred via a soft silicone pad onto the surface to be printed. Today there are two primary doctoring methods
A pad printing pad is the ink transfer mechanism in a pad printing machine. The pad compresses onto the ink-filled etch to “pick-up” the image. The pad then slides over the part and once again compresses to apply the image.
Pad printing opens up new possibilities which were not available with traditional printing processes, or which could be exploited only with great effort. To some extent, pad printing also replaces other decorating processes, such as screen printing, labeling and hot stamping. The form used for pad printing is a plate of etched steel or washed ...
Pads are a formulation of a liquid base material, silicone oil, and a catalyst. The base material makes up the mass of the pad. The amount of oil added to the base determines the hardness (or durometer), and the catalyst allows the pad to set-up in its mold.
A single-color print refers to the transfer of one print image from cliché to print object. It is the simplest type of printing and included in every basic pad printer.
2 kwi 2017 · Pad “rolls” across substrate surface depositing ink. In order to achieve a satisfactory print, the pad surface must roll onto the cliché (plate) and the image area of the substrate, as shown in Figure 1. The shape of the pad largely determines how well the pad will achieve this rolling action.
