I found a solution (involving what you kindly shared) that only involves a few steps: Close the app (taskbar > exit) Task Manager > Processes > End Task: EA & EA Background Service (HARD REQUIREMENT) Open app again and then log out (3 small bars in the top left). Log back in and try downloading again.
20 kwi 2023 · I have cleared cache, un-installed and re-installed the app, changed the install file location, ran the app as admin, lowered user access control settings, tried downloading a free game then cancelling it and downloading another game and nothing works.
20 paź 2024 · My download is endlessly stuck on "preparing". I've tried everything, cleaning the cache, redownloading the EA app, updating it, repairing it, freeing up memory. Anything I could think of (and what I was able to find on the internet).
If you have the same game in steam, origin/ea app won't let you install due to conflict on registry. Try install from steam instead. I have had this same issue with a base game in the EA app. I will try downloading it, but it will be preparing for a few minutes before saying my download has failed.
