Literacy New Jersey provides free instruction to adults who need help with reading, writing, math and speaking English. Trained volunteer tutors work with adults in small groups to help them improve their language and literacy skills so they can reach their life goals.
We teach adults to read — by training volunteers and then matching the volunteers to students. Our materials were specifically created for adults. Everything from key words to decodable texts to illustrations are intended for adult students. Our method follows the Science of Reading.
LVA provides free literacy services to adults, 16 years and older, who need instruction in Basic Literacy (BL) or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
