Use the new Tap & Ride option to pay your adult one-way fare on-board most NJ TRANSIT buses using contactless payment cards. As you board, tap your contactless credit or debit card on the on-board validator. Provide the number of zones you wish to travel to the bus operator for the proper fare.
Bus tickets can be purchased at ticket vending machines located in bus terminals or at ticket windows in major bus terminals. Cash is accepted on board. On some routes (noted on schedules), drivers will make change when paying with $20 bills or smaller.

Through NJ TRANSIT's Reduced Fare Program, discounted rates are available for people with disabilities and for people ages 62 years and older at any time on all NJ Transit trains, buses, and light rail. NJ Transit has lift-equipped and kneeling buses as well as accessible rail stations.
Senior citizens or people with disabilities must pay the full adult fare if he/she does not satisfy the provisions of the reduced fare program. Senior Citizens over the age of 62 and people with disabilities are eligible to use the reduced fare ticket at All Times.
