Just like S35VN, S30V forms hard carbides that give it an all-around good performance in terms of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance over Nitro V knife steel. Nitro V beats S30V in ease of sharpness and may even beat S30V in sharpness if sharpened to perfection.
26 lut 2018 · Is Nirto V better at edge retention than s30v? Nitro V is AEB-L with added nitrogen and vanadium. AEB-L is a real old timer razor steel that takes an absolutely fantastic hair popping edge super easily (bonus: Michael Walker's personal favorite steel). Nitrogen behaves a bit like adding more carbon, except that it wont make it more rust prone.

4 mar 2022 · Nitro v is much much better than both cpm154 and n690 in the edge retention department. It isn’t a super steel necessarily but it will give you decent edge retention while being pretty easy to sharpen. Good luck. Please review these charts for steel comparisons.
