14 lut 2023 · Here, we characterise the effects of time (up to 12 h) and temperature (490 to 560 ∘C) on nitridation with the aim to establish an effective regimen for the controlled synthesis of an aluminium nitride reinforcement powder for the production of metal matrix composites.
Nitriding is a heat treating process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of a metal to create a case-hardened surface. These processes are most commonly used on low-alloy steels. They are also used on titanium, aluminium and molybdenum.
18 lip 2013 · First a solution was prepared by dissolving reagents (aluminum nitrate, urea, and glucose) in water. Then the solution was heated in an electric furnace to 90 – 100°C. As a result of solution evaporation a gel-like mass was obtained.
28 cze 2022 · Nitriding diffuses nitrogen into the surface of certain metals creating a hard surface more resistant to wear and corrosion. Low-carbon, low-alloy steels are often nitrided but it is also possible to nitride titanium, moly, aluminum and some medium and high-carbon steels.
19 paź 2010 · Most treatment processes involve coating the surface of AlN particles with long chain organic molecules, such as carboxylic acids, particularly stearic acid, or through use of cetyl alcohol, n-decanoic acid, dodecylamine acid and so on (Egashira et al., 1991; Egashira et al., 1994).
21 gru 2022 · A reduction of the lattice oxygen can be achieved through long dwell times at high sintering temperatures (>1800 °C) using a graphite furnace [17, 18, 19]. However, caution is required here, as this is accompanied by grain growth of AlN and a reduction in strength [20].
NITREG® is a modern heat-treating process, capable of meeting the metallurgical requirements of all nitriding specifications that may have been originally written for salt bath, plasma or traditional gas nitriding.
