As you'll see, all four of these cameras (D80, D70s, D70 and D50) are almost the same. If price matters, get a D50 or D70s for a lot less money. If features matter, get the D80. The D80 is a new camera for 2006. The D50 , D70s and D70 are relics from two years ago, which is forever in digital camera years.
14 maj 2007 · IMHO, The D70 or D70s is an excellent first DSLR. Between the 18-55mm and the 18mm-70mm lenses, well.... no contest. Go for the 18-70mm. It is a wonderful kit lens. It also will have more resale value if you decide further down the road that you want to sell it.
19 maj 2007 · If I were to compare the D70 to D80, the viewfinder, screen size, ability to add a Nikon vertical grip with shutter release, low light performance make the extra $$'s worth it. The 10mpo sensor is nice, but surprisingly wasnt a huge deciding factor.

19 lis 2007 · The D40 is a brilliant camera with the glaring flaw of ignoring AF for most of Nikon's lens line. The D80 is an older and more expensive camera, but with a proper lens motor.
13 wrz 2022 · If you can only afford one lens, I would start out with a prime lens. For Nikon Z mirrorless cameras, this could be the 28mm f/2.8 or 40mm f/2. For Nikon DSLRs, I would pick the 35mm f/1.8G DX for crop-sensor cameras or the 50mm f/1.8G for FX cameras.
