7 lut 2013 · This kind of warranty covers if you drop your camera for example in the pond while snpping pictures of ducks. I buy accidental coverage on most of my cameras over $500 dollars because I've dropped one before and to me it's worth it.
Full disclaimer, I work in a Canadian camera store and this question popped into my head the other day. I personally only grab the extended warranties on my bodies, flashes and sometimes I’ll consider it on a zoom lens that has stabilization. Usually just the first two though.
6 gru 2005 · I bought a D50 with an 18-70 (D70 kit lens) on the weekend, the dealer was highly recommending getting the extended warranty (for an extra 2 years beyond the standard 2 years: $129 Canadian). In general I ignore such advice, but I've been pretty happy with the service at this particular store.
19 cze 2012 · I quickly glanced at the Nikon Extended warranty and it stated that is not available for Florida Residents. So this left me with only option of buying an extended warranty from J&R (do not recall the company that provides the service) for about $96 dollars.
Reminds me of when I worked at Kit's Camera, and I sold a guy a 5 year extended warranty on a Nikon D1, a $5k camera at the time. The warranty was $3100. We were required to ask about it, and he took almost no convincing, and bought it.
