25 maj 2022 · The Nikon AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II is a subtle refresh of Nikon’s original 18-200mm lens, gaining a zoom lock switch but retaining the same optical design and image stabilizer. Nikon subsequently launched two 18-300mm superzooms.

The pictures below illustrate the focal length range from wide to telephoto. The 18-200mm appears to be just slightly wider at 18mm than the 18-55mm VR.

Nikon 18-200mm VR, attached to the world's least-well-cared-for D2Hs. Optics: ★★★★☆ Great for doing actual photography. VR is amazing. Durability: ★★☆☆☆ Fine for normal people; heavy shooters in extreme conditions will wear it out. Practicality: ★★★★★ The only lens most people need, most of the time.
All I bring anywhere is my 18-200mm, and maybe my 12-24mm for 99% of everything I shoot. It's small, fun, flexible, sharp and fast. VR, instant auto/manual focus override and macro and zooming all work perfectly. This lens is too much fun!
