You'll never need to start the whole game from scratch to get a new ending if you don't want to. Getting endings A, B, C, D, and E took me about 25 hours in total the first time, but I didn't do much side content. Starting the game from scratch and getting all 26 endings took me around 35-40 hours. Hope this helps!

After all, completing 95-100% in about half of the categories even without a walkthrough is easy enough within 50 hours. It's the remaining percentages in a few categories (capturing all fish, finding the last 5-10% unit data, etc) that takes an extreme amount of time if doing it "blind."
