What the guideline is about. 1.1. Who is the focus? Groups that will be covered. Women with confirmed or suspected endometriosis. Women with recurrent symptoms of endometriosis. Women with asymptomatic endometriosis discovered incidentally. Young women (aged 17 and under) have been identified as a subgroup needing specific consideration.

The guideline also covers the care of women with confirmed or suspected endometriosis, including recurrent endometriosis.

It aims to raise awareness of the symptoms of endometriosis, and to provide clear advice on what action to take when women with signs and symptoms first present in healthcare settings. It also provides advice on the range of treatments available.
The current guideline recommends that clinicians consider transvaginal ultrasound for people with suspected endometriosis . The recommendation to assess for, and manage, complications of endometriosis, such as infertility and depression, is based on what CKS considers to be good clinical practice.
