Suggested Fishing Locations By Species. PLEASE NOTE: This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all available fishing locations. It is a list of suggested locations compiled by fisheries biologists who live and work in the region.
Fish and Game Maps. Federal Lands. The largest single landholding is the White Mountain National Forest, comprising over 751,000 acres -- nearly 10 percent of the land area in the state. Most of this land is open to hunting, except for the tourist spots and campgrounds.

White Mountains Fishing. The clear, cold water of the White Mountains region is ideal for trout fishing, and Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout are abundant. Notable rivers and streams include the Swift River along the Kancamagus Highway, the East and West Branches of the Pemigewasset, the Saco, Ellis, and Wildcat Rivers, and the Ammonoosuc River.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire offer not only beautiful hiking, but also so great fly fishing. With many streams supporting native brook trout populations, a day in solidarity can also become an awesome fishing experience.
Brook trout are the NH state fish and one of the largest draws for Anglers coming up to the region. We offer guided fly fishing in the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, part of the few remaining brook trout refuges in the nation.
