If you are contacted by phone, email or through social media by someone claiming to work for NGC who wants to buy coins from you, it is a scam. NGC will never randomly contact people soliciting coin deals.

Enter a collectible's certification number (circled in the image) to confirm its description and grade in the NGC database. You can also scan the QR code on the back of the NGC holder with your phone.
7 lut 2024 · See the portion of the Security Center page on "NGC holder and label security features" and on "identifying fraudulent holders". There is no standard weight for an NGC or other grading service holder, so you cannot determine the weight of the coins by weighing the holders.

You can do a Google search for the phone number they gave you, as well as the one they supposedly called you from. (“Supposedly” because scammers usually fake it.) That’s often an easy way to identify a previously-reported scam.
