Newsweek. Newsweek is an American news publication. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.) Publication History. Newsweek began in 1933 as News-Week. The title dropped the hyphen in late 1937. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is January 8, 1951 (v. 37 no. 2).
