General Civil cases includes matters where parties are seeking monetary relief up to $50,000. The Housing Part hears landlord-tenant matters and cases involving maintenance of housing standards.

Housing Court for Tenants and Landlords. Need something else? If you are a tenant or landlord and you have an ongoing dispute, including eviction, you can get information and assistance from Housing Court. Court locations and hours are also available.
Housing Court. A tenant can bring a case against a property owner in Housing Court to force them to make repairs and provide essential services, like heat and hot water. This case is called an “HP action.” Tenants can also initiate claims of harassment in Housing Court.
