4 cze 2019 · Grading NYC’s 24,000 Restaurants: The Fine Print of the System. All of the city’s restaurants are graded by one of the health department’s credentialed inspectors (there are currently 109), each of whom must have a bachelor’s degree and 30 credit hours in natural sciences.
Inspectors check that restaurants comply with food safety rules. Violations of food safety rules carry point values, and a restaurant’s score corresponds to a letter grade. The lower the score, the better the grade. Learn more about how a restaurant is scored and graded.
