Rumors and speculation and nothing more. I'll believe it when I see it. All of the rumors and speculation over the years about an MR2 revival have borne nothing. Not gonna happen. Plus that rendering looks like a 2+2 style coupe, not a mr roadster, cool looking enough but not an mr2.
The 1L fits with the previous rumors about working with Suzuki and 120hp with2200lbs is right at the power to weigh of the AW11. That’s enough to keep up with traffic and have fun all the time. Even at $30k I might just spring for it.
I own a 1991 SW20 proudly and I am not a fan of this as the new MR2. This is an old photo though and there are other, and better, concepts for what the possible return of the MR2 will look like. I hope they do it justice though because the platform deserves greatness.
2 mar 2024 · It should have a rear mid-engine layout like its predecessor. The report says Toyota is still considering two body styles for it. One “two-decked” option would look more like the first MR2 with a distinct trunk area. The other would look more like a Porsche 718 Cayman.
