This was one of the flagship Bar Rescue success stories. I guess I need to re-do my Spirits on Bourbon update. Still not really a “failure” since it stayed open for so long using Taffer’s concept.
In this week's episode of Bar Rescue: The Dirty Truth, Jon Taffer is in New Orleans, Louisiana to rescue Turtle Bay. The bar is owned by Brad Bohannan and it is having trouble attracting customers despite being right on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
One of the guys who was on the episode was bartending. The decor was pretty good. The service was slow but they were super friendly. They still have the list of bar rescue cocktails on their menu. They were competently made if not amazing. I also went to Spirits on Bourbon in new orleans.
Sometimes Jon remodeling a bar just so they can sell it to get out of debt is successful. In terms of time, Champs Sports Pub is the oldest bar from the show to still be open. Canyon Inn aired one week later and is also still open. All the other bars from Season 1 are closed.
