This annual event is one of the country's greatest college sports rivalries, bringing the fans and alumni of Southern University and Grambling State University to New Orleans each November. A week of events featuring a parade, fan festival and battle of the bands culminates with Saturday's Bayou Classic football match-up.

No Bayou Classic weekend is complete without the legendary Battle of the Bands, between Grambling's World Famed Tiger Marching Band, and Southern's Human Jukebox. The Friday night spectacular features hundreds of marchers on each side performing alongside Grambling's Orchesis dance line and the Fabulous Dancing Dolls of Southern.
The Bayou Classic and Battle of the Bands attracted people from all across the country and at least two women from South Africa made the trip to New Orleans.
