Tenants can use these forms to start a lawsuit against a landlord (or anyone else who is legally responsible to maintain the rental property) for a judgment directing repairs of dangerous, hazardous, or harmful conditions [see RPL 235-b Warranty of Habitability] or violations of local and state housing standards.
