Main steps in the redesign process. Selecting a theme for our future banknotes. On 29 November, the ECB’s Governing Council decided to move to the next phase of the redesign process for euro banknotes with two themes: “European culture” and “Rivers and birds”.
Current banknotes. There are two series of euro banknotes. The first series comprises seven different denominations: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500.
