The 2022 Nepal Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) was conducted as a periodic update of the demographic and health information regarding the people of Nepal. The 2022 NDHS was the sixth DHS survey conducted in Nepal in collaboration with the worldwide Demographic and Health Surveys Program.
Nepal showcases a diverse range of topography and climate, stretching around 885 kilometers in an east-to-west direction and averaging 193 kilometers in width from north to south. Nepal is characterized by three elongated ecological belts that span from east to west.

Executive Summary. Gross domestic product (GDP) growth is estimated to have slowed to 1.9% in fiscal year (FY) 2023 after rising by 5.6% in the previous year, owing to tight monetary policy, unwinding of COVID-era stimulus, persistent global headwinds, and wider fiscal consolidation.
The installed capacity of electricity increased to 2684.4 Megawatt in 2022/23, which consists of 2537.9 Megawatt of hydro electricity, 87 Megawatt of solar, 6.0 Megawatt of cogeneration and 53.4 Megawatt of thermal electricity.
