Nepalese geography did multiyear academic progress since 1970 to 1990 and made remarkable progress in teaching and research and had impressed to the development policy particularly in the regional development approach in the country.
Our goal in the paper is twofold: first, to draw out several key features of geographical approaches to sustainability, infrastructure, and disaster in Nepal; and second, to discuss how Nepal-based geographical work has contributed to broader debates on these themes.

Nepal has a very high degree of geographic diversity and can be divided into three main regions: Terai, Hilly, and Himal. The Terai region, covering 17% of Nepal's area, is a lowland region with some hill ranges and is culturally more similar to parts of India.
