Access to primary care is a major issue in 13 of the 21 counties in New Jersey (NJ). Advanced practice nurses (APNs) in NJ are required to have a joint protocol in order to practice. Removal of this barrier to practice by legislators could reduce access-to-care issues in many counties where health factors and health outcomes are poor.
