7 kwi 2006 · This article contains step by step instructions for setting up outlook to read IMAP email from the NCSU server. Note: This information assumes that you already have Outlook Express on your computer and that you already have an Internet connection.
Sign in with your NC State email address, Unity password, and Duo. Once signed in, you will have access to use the Microsoft Office 365 products online. You can also access Microsoft 365 apps through VCL at vcl.ncsu.edu .

The preferred method of access for Gmail is through a browser or through an official Gmail app. Accessing Gmail through a third-party email app (e.g. Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail) is possible, but it is not supported by the NC State Help Desk.
For specific information on configuration of certain e-mail clients, we highly reccommend Resnet's Email Setup page. NOTE: We need to build our own version of these pages. NOTE: New Unity accounts created as of May 2nd, 2006 will have a new spam filtering system in place.
1) Go to the Tools menu and click Accounts… 2) From that menu, click on Add , then Mail… 3) Outlook will then bring up a window and ask you for your name. Enter your name in the provided box. 4) Next, Outlook will ask you for your email address. This is typically something like: unityid@ncsu.edu 5) The next page will ask for email server names.
