Nauvoo Illinois Temple. Scheduled temple appointments are encouraged and appreciated, but patrons without appointments are still welcome. For those without appointments, wait times might be longer. Unlike many temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Nauvoo Illinois Temple and its statue of the angel Moroni face west, overlooking the Mississippi River. The largest temple baptismal font in the Church is located in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple.
19 sty 2023 · Church members can submit names to prayer rolls by visiting the information page of any temple. On the page, simply click on the prayer roll link. You may then enter the names of up to five individuals per request. Names submitted to a temple prayer roll remain on the list for two weeks.
The angel on the first Nauvoo temple was a weathervane, sculpted of metal. The figure was positioned horizontally as if it were flying, clothed in a robe and cap. The angel held a book in one hand and a trumpet in the other.
