You may then enter the names of up to five individuals per request. Names submitted to a temple prayer roll remain on the list for two weeks.

The angel on the first Nauvoo temple was a weathervane, sculpted of metal. The figure was positioned horizontally as if it were flying, clothed in a robe and cap. The angel held a book in one hand and a trumpet in the other.
On Friday afternoon, June 28, a severe thunderstorm passing through western Illinois sent lightning toward the Nauvoo Illinois Temple, striking the statue of the angel Moroni and blackening its face and upper torso. The reverberating boom stunned temple patrons, tourists, and Nauvoo residents.
