The National Data Buoy Center's home page. The premier source of meteorological and oceanographic measurements for the marine environment.
This notebook introduces National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) data with a focus on buoys in Southern Lake Michigan. The mission of NOAA’s NDBC is to collect and disseminate in-situ, real-time, quality-controlled observations in the marine environment to ensure the Nation’s maritime safety, and to understand and predict the atmosphere, ocean ...
Latest station observations from National Data Buoy Center (NDBC)
This database holds wind, wave, and other marine data collected by the NOAA National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). The data are collected from NDBC moored buoys and from C-MAN (Coastal-Marine Automated Network) stations located on piers, offshore towers, lighthouses, and beaches.
The NDBC compiles coastal and offshore weather observations from NOAA fixed and drifting data buoys and C-MAN stations. Moored buoys are deployed in all U.S. coastal and offshore waters, from the western Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean around Hawaii, and from the Bering Sea to the South Pacific.
