Peter Sydney Ernest Lawford (né Aylen; 7 September 1923 – 24 December 1984) was an English-American actor. [1][2] He was a member of the "Rat Pack" and the brother-in-law of US president John F. Kennedy and senators Robert F. Kennedy and Edward Kennedy.
In failing health for some time, Bishop died at age 89 of multiple organ failure on October 17, 2007, in his home on Lido Isle, a man-made island in the harbor of Newport Beach, California, [1] as the last surviving Rat Pack member. Per Bishop's wishes, his remains were cremated and scattered in the Pacific Ocean near his home.
They appeared together on stage and in movies in the early 1960s, including the movies Ocean's 11, [2] Sergeants 3, and Robin and the 7 Hoods (in the last movie, Bing Crosby replaced Lawford). Sinatra, Martin, and Davis were seen as the group's lead members after Bogart's death. [3][4]
