MySQL provides connectivity for client applications developed in the Java programming language with MySQL Connector/J, a driver that implements the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API and also MySQL X DevAPI.
You can install the Connector/J package using either a binary or source distribution. While the binary distribution provides the easiest method for installation, the source distribution lets you customize your installation.
