If you don't have a recent Excel version with TEXTAFTER and TEXTSPLIT, then just use text-to-columns, delimited by spaces, and use VALUE on the three cells representing year, month and day to get a serial date. Then, you can use FORMAT to achieve any format you want.
16 kwi 2006 · What I am having a problem with is the date format. The database that I'm importing into (mysql database) is in the following date format: 20060416 (this would be April 16, 2006). The excel sheet that I have is in normal date format i.e. 04/16/2006.
21 sty 2016 · Date correctly formatted in excel as DATE, when append Mysql for excel converts the DATE to DATETIME. I created a table with column as Date in workbench, then use 'append excel data to table' option from the plugin to upload a row correctly formatted in YYYY-MM-DD. The same error message appeared.

30 wrz 2016 · After pasting the SQL statement into a MySQL Workbench query I was told there was a missing parentheses right in front of a date. I figured out that if I added quotes around the date (in DateTime format), that line would be read in and the error would move a line down to the next row insertion.
