On windows 7 (should be similar for 8): go to control panel> system. on left hand side you should see Advanced system settings>double click on that.

17 gru 2013 · Simply make a copy of the standard "Command Prompt" shortcut, and name it "MySQL Command Prompt". Then right-click, choose Properties, and set the "Working directory" to wherever MySQL commands are installed.
