A triad contains 3 notes – obviously – which are the root, 3rd and 5th. Those intervals vary according to chord type like this: Major R-3-5. Minor R-b3-5.

TRIADS are chords taken from Five-Finger Patterns and consist of 3 tones: the Key-tone (1st degree) - the 3rd tone (3rd degree) - the 5th tone (5th degree).
