4 lip 2024 · The Mun, is a large satellite orbiting Kerbin. It is mostly gray in appearance, with craters of various sizes dotting its otherwise smooth surface. The Mun’s discovery is widely regarded as one of the more important breakthroughs of Kerbal evolution.
31 maj 2018 · I do believe the difference is that Kerbin's radius is 600km. If I'm not mistaken, wiki is stating Kerbin's CoM to Mun's CoM, whereas the game is showing Kerbin's sea level to Mun's CoM.
As in, if you go outside and look up at the Moon, the size it appears to be to you is its apparent diameter. So, if you were on Kerbin's surface looking up at the Mun, it would look 3.7x larger than our moon.
29 sty 2023 · You've double-counted the delta-V needed to return to Kerbin from Mun. It takes something under 600 m/s to reach orbit, and then perhaps 300 m/s to go from Mun orbit back to Kerbin's atmosphere before relying on aerobraking to slow down and land.
From the (equatorial) surface of Mun, it takes about 900Dv to land on Kerbin. From low Munar orbit, it takes less than 300Dv to land on Kerbin.
The 11,600 km number is from the surface of Kerbin to the center of the Mun, the 12Gm number is center to center, if I remember correctly, just to clear up any confusion. In game, in the map view, you can place your mouse on the moon and see its current height.
