4 lip 2024 · Mun, also known as the Mun and sometimes written as Mün, is a relatively large moon orbiting Kerbin. It can be thought of as an analogue to Earth's own moon, which frequently is simply called “ the Moon ” (Latin: Luna ).
Technically, I guess it should be "Mun" (unless perhaps 'mun' means 'moon' in the Kerbal language and it took them a while to discover Minmus). But since it's so close to 'moon' sound-wise and, as you say, we're used to saying 'the Moon', I find that it sounds weird and say "the Mun".
Kurt coined this phrase, "Mun or bust" to the degree that it eventually ended up on the crashed Mun lander in the opening screen of the game. There's also a Kerbal that can spawn called Kurt as a thank you for the important work Kurt did to help out the development of the early game.

Apparently what's going on is that the Chinese translation of "Mun or Bust" as it appears on the crashed lander on the loading screen is kinda bad, and people are getting offended by what the translated text literally means.
