Mullvad is a good working VPN for torrenting only. But it doesn't work well for other purposes like streaming. So, I have switched to PIA VPN because this VPN is working great for torrenting, streaming, gaming, etc.
Why I chose Mullvad (and why you probably should too) Review. It's the only VPN provider I've found so far that when I visit their website, nothing triggers uBlock Origin or my Pihole, and I have both of those loaded up with as many blocklists as I can find.
To that point, ProtonVPN is the VPN recommendation by Michael Bazzell, who wrote *the* books on digital privacy and OSINT. However, Mullvad does have the benefit of only using numbered accounts (which are by default anonymous), which takes a little more work to accomplish using Proton.
I still have Mullvad through mid August. When I first discovered Mullvad, I had another VPN provider subscription paid through December 2024 (Christmas special). So they overlapped. Not overly concerned about the refunds.
Mullvad Review.... First off, this review is probably from a different perspective than some VPN users... I'm a systems engineer. So I've used a number of VPNs over the years. My main goal is to circumvent my ISPs restriction on certain *legal* activities that they seem to frown on.
zoredache • 2 mo. ago. It is basically firefox with adjustments, and tweaks to make it more secure, and have the builtin tunnel client. If your old laptop can't run Firefox, then it probably wouldn't be able to run the Mullvad browser. 1.
When I'm not using Mullvad, I get around 900-950 Mbps download speed, but as soon as i turn it on, i'm down to below 20 Mbps. I have no clue what could cause this, and I am tech smart but not enough to know what to do to fix it.
